I didn’t get a lot of shop time this past weekend. I did get some new lights installed in our garage and my wife’s craft room.
I was able to multi-task a little, though.
My dad made a set of these poplar stools from the left-overs from shutters he made for his house. My wife, mom, sister, and niece each got one.
While I was outside working on the lights, I sprayed on a couple of coats of light gray chalk paint, and gave it a top coat of satin lacquer.
After letting the finish cure for a day, the stool was pressed into kitchen service, where it will spend its time assisting with the removal and replacement of things on the top shelves.
Also, the replacement escutcheon for the dresser came in from Lee Valley last week. It only comes in an antique finish, but this one was solid brass. A few seconds on the buffing wheel, and it matched the rest of the hardware.
I’ve got a couple of new tools, and some more project ideas. We’ll see what comes up over the next few weeks.
